Another draft of something I’ve been working on, and in this case its not a Call of Cthulhu Supplement, rather it is a set of adventure seeds for Farnsley’s Phantasm Investigations, a setting for Anti-Paladin Games’ Mini Six rule set.

While The Aether – The Magazine of the Pandora Effect rides the fine line as to what is Lovecraftian and what isn’t (hence whether or not to include it on this site), I thought that the seeds I present as part of this could easily be adapted to be used in a more serious Cthulhu-focused adventure with little trouble.

As always I’m interested in any feedback on this project and will post updates when I can…

I thought, as I have the draft completed for it, that I would upload the Introduction Chapter for Dire Consequences for anyone interested to take a look at. While only a draft it does give a good overview of what the adventure will be like, who is involved and where it is set.

In summary it will be:

A three-plus session adventure for a selection of pre-generated characters.

Set in the Gaslight era, it focuses on plot but in a way that lets the players go wild with their characters (in other words it tells a set story, but opens up how the characters interact with it).

I’m aiming for September release, but this depends on getting art, maps and other extras done!

With the Grand Reorganisation of the Unbound Publishing site and a renewed personal interest in the Call of Cthulhu game setting, I’ve restarted work on one of my older project – Dire Consequences.

I aim to have the completed supplement out around September this year (about a year after Monophobia), but will aim to release a number of teasers and drafts for both interest sake and to see what the playing public think of my approach.

In the meantime, here is the intro paragraph from Dire Consequences -

Dire Consequences or ‘Serpents By Gaslight’ is a Call of Cthulhu adventure set in the Gaslight era (the 1890s). Written for six pre-generated characters, it can be easily modified for any Victorian party of Investigators, or, in fact, for characters from any era.

The adventure is likely to take 2 or 3 regular sessions (of say 3 hours each) to complete, depending on the decisions made by the players and any additional encounters the Keeper may throw in their way.

As always, if you have any comments, feel free to send them to us here!

This revamp has two purposes, the first to better help me organise the material on the site, while the second is to allow us to use this Home Page more often in the way it is supposed to be – as a Blog. There are lots of great Call of Cthulhu community, companies and sites out on the net, and this blog will allow us to talk about them all!

Hi all, I just thought I should give you a brief update as to what I’ve been up to lately.

Work progresses slowly in most of my projects, and I’ve picked up on big on – Return to the Mountains of Madness – a modern day sequel to the outstanding Beyond the Mountains of Madness (written by Chaz & Jan Engan back in the late 90s).

I hope to kick all of the projects I’ve mentioned here (and a couple others) into overdrive over the Christmas period, so check back regularly!

Almost a decade in development, Monophobia is a collection of Call of Cthulhu adventures for lone Investigators (and a willing Keeper). Written by Mark Chiddicks and Marcus Bone, two veteran Call of Cthulhu Keepers, it includes fantastic cover art by Ashley Jones (the artist responsible for the most compelling Tatters of the King).

In Monophobia you will find:

Advice on running adventures for lone Investigators.

Three Mythos-based adventures taking 2-4 hours each to complete.

Handouts and maps for each scenario.

A pre-generated Investigator specifically created for each adventure.

THE ADVENTURES
Monophobia contains three adventures. Each is designed to explore a different aspect of the Mythos, and will push the Investigator to the limit of their sanity, skill and determination.

Vengeance From Beyond – In which a hunt for a stolen book ends surprisingly easily, but not without consequences. When the spirit of a dead occultist haunts the Investigator in ways that nobody else can see, madness beckons, and the only escape seems to lie in crossing the ultimate threshold.

Of Grave Concern -In which the Investigator’s knowledge could well be the death of them. When a meeting with an acquaintance results in the Investigator’s mind being transferred into a walking corpse, it’s a race against time to discover who could perpetrate such a dastardly deed… and more importantly, why?

Robinson Gruesome – In which the Investigator is marooned on a South Seas island, and goes from believing he is utterly alone to fervently wishing that he truly was. Facing death from all quarters, the Investigator must confront a desperate native priest and his ancient god in a primitive struggle to the death.

WOULD YOU LIKE A PRINTED COPY?
While Unbound Publishing can not sell copies of Monophobia, we are thinking about undertaking a high-quality print of this Call of Cthulhu supplement. At this moment details are scant, but we would be asking interested parties to pay for the postage and delivery of the manuscript (at cost only, of course).
